A Glastonbury Experience
An evening and two day weekend non-residential workshop in Glastonbury with
The Glastonbury Pilgrim Centre - facilited by Morgana West, with Barry Taylor, Felicity Dalton, Pauline Ross and Alison Sutton
Many people are 'called' to Glastonbury. Those who stay, often find themselves subjected to bouts of painful emotional, physical and spiritual stress - a phenomenon, which is sometimes called their "Glastonbury Experience" [G.E.] This is a period of trial, at times testing people to the limit but seems eventually to lead to a feeling of transformation and joy in living and serving in this Sacred Place. The aim of this workshop is for us to work together and come to a better understanding of the process and from this, gain a clearer idea of the real purpose of our personal lives in Glastonbury and the work we are being called upon to do here.
Agenda for this course:
- SETTING THE SCENE - A two hour session on Friday evening introducing us to the workshop, the nature of the process, its relevance to Glastonbury and exploring our needs to be the best we can be during this weekend. This will be followed by a guided meditation that will take us 'Through the Veil' and mark the beginning of our journey. You will also be given a journal to record your experiences.
- On Saturday morning - THE CALL TO GLASTONBURY AND OUR ARRIVAL. Discovering 'where we are at', how we awakened to our spiritual life and how we heard the 'Call to Glastonbury'. Meditation as a spiritual tool helping us to 'listen'. Exploring synchronistic events and responding to our intuition. Discovering the reasons for the Call and looking at our talents and the 'gifts' that we have brought with us.
- On Saturday afternoon - A GLASTONBURY EXPERIENCE. Creating a Sacred Circle and making an offering of something that we feel represents our own selves. Exploring the idea that we are being 'steered' and that there is a bigger picture. 'The Glastonbury Experience'/'A dark Night of the Soul.' the testing to see if we have the strength to carry out the task that we have been called for followed by a guided meditation to 'name' the experience. [It will not be necessary to voice this to the group as you may wish to keep it personal]
- On Sunday morning - THE OUTCOME. Discovering the nature of the lessons and what we have learned. Transforming the Experience. Where is it leading? Do we understand why we have been called? Finding a field of service and the options in Glastonbury. How do we nurture ourselves?
- On Sunday afternoon - WHERE TO GO FROM HERE? Consolidating the sessions. Opening the Circle. Feedback.
- TO BRING: PENS/NOTEPAPER. AN ITEM THAT YOU FEEL REPRESENTS YOURSELF. ANY SPECIAL DIETARY REQUIREMENTS. ANYTHING THAT YOU REQUIRE THAT YOU FEEL MIGHT BE NECESSARY FOR THIS JOURNEY.
