Ecstatic Relationship - Course Details
Explore three ancient myths concerning the transformative powers of relationship.
Mythology is full of relationships: Isis and Osiris, Inanna and Dumuzi, Kali and Shiva, Persephone and Hades, Zeus and Hera, the Greek gods in many interactions with humans and many others. Just under the surface of these dramatic stories lie the lessons of love, rebirth and transformation. Join with a circle of men and women to discuss three of these myths in detail. In exploring their meanings the group discovers deeper insights into the transformative powers of relationship and can begin to apply these learnings in their own lives.
Enter into the mythic landscape in dynamic enactment.
Examining ancient stories of relationship, we step into the roles of the god and goddess so the myths become alive. We are directly informed by the feelings and thoughts that arise in this dynamic landscape, allowing us to perceive and choose to change old patterns and limiting beliefs we may hold in our current relationships, or beliefs around relationships. We then bring these understandings back to a still deeper interpretation of the myth.
Create a personal sacred ritual with the intent of healing relationship wounds.
Each participant will create a completely personalised, private ceremony, fully supported and held within sacred space to enter deeply into their psyche and begin to heal old or current wounds, calling on one of the god/desses whose stories we have studied. This can include working with issues such as: incest, infertility, rape, abuse, lack of self-confidence, body image, a broken heart, fear of intimacy or trust issues, as well as creating a personal dedication to an aspect of transformative relating. You are encouraged to go as deeply as you choose into this process.
Experience meeting with the divine in enacted myth and ritual.
Ecstatic meetings with the divine, and with other humans, come unbidden – and are unbiddable – in ordinary life. Within ritual we can step into those roles deliberately and receive the messages and understandings that come from the gods and goddesses. Working in this dynamic we actually feel the transformative powers of the myth we are enacting course through us, enabling us to begin applying them in our own lives.
Learn how to take this working with myth and god/desses in your own life.
By exploring selected myths in this intimate, structured way you learn how to undertake this process yourself, to call a god/goddess or myth into your awareness and walk that path. This is an interactive process, where the magic of the divine is brought into unresolved longings/questions/journeys and from this you receive insight, support and guidance.
Gain understanding into the symbolism and deeper meanings mythical meanings of death/rebirth and transformation.
Even after several readings the complex events of a myth can still seem very opaque. Unlayering the stories through discussion, alternative versions, enactment and ritual creates a very personal relationship to the myth, whose deeper meanings can then be understood more easily. In this way the dramatic stories of the gods become more related to our own experiences, and emotions that may seem extreme or even dysfunctional are given a context, which allows the transformation promised in the myth to occur.
