The Isle of Avalon Foundation is proud to host the first visit of the World Drum Project to Glastonbury on Friday 12th September 2008 at 7pm – 9pm.
The World Drum Project started in October 2006 following a vision from Norwegian Shaman, Whitecougar. Sami [The Sami are the indigenous tribe of Northern Europe] medicine man and drum maker, Birger Mikkelsen together with Morten Wolf Storeide built this amazing drum as a wake up call to the world against lethargy and indifference towards Mother Earth. The mission has taken the Drum around the world uniting all humankind to find peace between us and Mother Earth and aims to reconnect our spiritual relationship with Her. The start of its journey began in Norway, journeying through parts of Europe to Canada, US and New Zealand.
“As the World Drum travels the sound of it will get stronger each day. It is the sound of heartbeat and life itself”
By uniting together and generating publicity about the Journey of the Sacred Drum , the Project also aims to raise political awareness and demands action from Governments across the globe to stop plundering our planet’s natural resources.
BE PART OF THE WORLD DRUM’S JOURNEY!
All those attending this gathering will have the opportunity to play the drum and feel its presence, if you have a few words that you would like to write to accompany the drum as it moves on, please bring paper and pen with you.
