Journey to the Sacred
The Kabbalah is an ancient mystical system of understanding the universe. Also known as the Tree of Life, it uses hidden meanings embedded in the Five Books of Moses to arrive at a deeper understanding of how divine energies manifest in the world.
Some powerful kabbalistic practises have recently come to light from mediaeval Spain where Jewish and Sufi masters were in fruitful dialogue. We shall be exploring these experientially in meditations on the Divine Name using breath and mantra, based on the teachings of the renowned 13th century Kabbalist Abraham Abulafia.
In this evening you will:
- Learn about the Hebrew Name of God
- Learn how its four letters relate to the ‘Four Worlds’ of Kabalah
- Do a breath meditation on the Name feeling its sacred energies embodied in you
- Learn and use a chanting system based on the Name which involves simple head movements to intensify the meditation experience
